Dr. Stephanie Bohon is the Founder and Co-Director of the Center for the study of Social Justice and the Associate Head of Sociology at the University of Tennessee at Knoxville, where she is also a faculty member in the intercollegiate graduate statistics program. Dr. Bohon holds degrees in economics, political science, sociology, and demography, including a doctorate in demography and sociology from Penn State University. Her work focuses on Latino immigration to the United States and immigration policy, and she is especially interested in Latino migrants in the US South. Her most recent work examines the difference between Latino migrant adjustment in traditional and emerging gateways.
Dr. Bridget Gorman is Associate Professor and Associate Chair of Sociology at Rice University. Dr. Gorman received her PhD in sociology and demography from Pennsylvania State University, and her research broadly considers how social conditions and experiences shape group differences in health and well-being among children and adults. Having published over thirty peer-reviewed articles in a variety of well-regarded sociology, demography, and public health journals, her recent research examines disparities in morbidity, physical functioning, and medical care use across major U.S. demographic groups – particularly racial/ethnic, nativity, and gender groups.
As editors of PRPR, Drs. Bohon and Gorman wish to maintain its orientation toward broad, interdisciplinary coverage of population research, including applied, local, regional, and policy-oriented demographic research. They encourage submissions that reflect substantively-rich research of interest to demographers from all methodological traditions, skillfully applied.
